What age group do you primarily work with?

I currently work with the three year olds in our Green Room.

 

How long have you worked in the Child Care field?

I have worked in this field for 8 years.

 

How long have you been with Ms. Bev's Place?

I have been with Ms. Bev's Place since it opened  in 2006.  Prior to coming to work for Ms. Bev's place, I served as a manager of a local doctor's office.

 

What is your philosophy on the education of children in your classroom?

I believe each child responds to different teaching methods.  It's important to let them explore through play to identify what they gravitate towards.  When you let them explore, you also help them develop natural communication skills through the interactions they have with their peers.  From this, we can ensure we're fostering a postive learning environment that helps your child devlop a motor skill set that will prepare them for Pre-K and Kindergarten.

 

What are your goals for the children in your class?

My goal for your child is to help them develop a set of motor skills that allows them to communicate through their words.  When you see a child cry, push, or lash out, it's often because they can't find the words to express how they feel.  By helping them to develop their speech, we ensure that they communicate in ways that don't include physical backlash toward their peers.  Each week we review letters, the sounds they make, and a variety of words that begin with that particular letter.  This helps the children as they continue to develop their speech patterns. 

 

What do you look forward to about coming to work every day?

I always look forward to seeing the smiling faces of the children I work with on a daily basis.  It's amazing how quickly their loving demeanor can make even the worst of days into an amazing one.  I love seeing them grow and learn everyday while witnessing their achievements as they move up through the various classrooms at Ms. Bev's Place.

 

If someone asked you why the should choose Ms. Bev's Place, what would you tell them?

There's no other staff in existence that love's taking care of children as much as our staff.  We're all here because we love working with and teaching your children.  It is truly a gift to be able to watch them grow and learn each and everyday.  We're also like an extended family for your child.  When they walk in our doors, they know they're safe and comfortable with us.
